When I was in labor with my son, the nurses at the hospital told me I had to wait till the my doctor got there befor I could give birth to my son[now eight], he was in the birth canal for at least 45 min. The doc was there when I first got there, she broke my water and left to go home[this was hours befor.] When she finally came back to the hospital I gave birth to my son, but he was dry and white[pale], I was told he was breathing in the birth canal, really he was suffocating, he had a point at the top of his head, my mother was in the room with me, she was very angry at the doctor and the nurses, now I find out my son has some brain damage due to injury that may have happened at birth his ''new doctor told me'', what should I do about this??? Is it because they made me hold him in for all that time

You totally have a lawsuit. Babies remaining too long in the birth canal is very dangerous and there are hundreds of cases every year. Find a medical malpractice attorney, a good one will take your case on contingency, meaning he will get paid when you get a settlement or jury verdict. Unfortunately the attorney will get about 40%, but you should pursue this. Doctors and hospitals know damn well how dangerous that is. Also, make sure you get your son a doctor that can keep track of him developmentally. The point on his head was probably from a suction device used to pull him out, and those usually don't cause permanent harm.
I hope everything turns out ok for you guys.

Pointy heads is a result of delivering the baby naturally. Cesarian babies have round heads. Although the baby has crowned, waiting for the doctor to arrive before giving birth is pretty normal

If I was in your position I would certainly contact a lawyer. I don't know where your at so I don't know the laws, but there may be a statue of limitations. A lawyer will be able to tell you, and most will do a consult for free.

Run-don't walk- to the nearest medical malpractice attorney you can find. Find out if you have a case. You might. Also- hurry because the statute of limitations could run out. Unless it is something that could not have been known until this time. Good Luck!

Yes.
That is awful what happened to you and your son.
These people should be taught a hard lesson in ethics.

ASK YOUR NEW DOCTOR AND LET HIM READ THE MEDICAL REPORTS AND SEE IF THEY COINCIDE WITH WHAT YOU SAID HAPPENED.
