Unless we can inhabit another planet or solar system by the time the sun turns into a red giant, we will die out. Even before the sun dies out, the sun will most likely become a red giant. Unfortunately, even with a slightly lower temperature for the red giant, its luminosity drastically increases, thus we would be fried. End of story.

Possible is different than likely or inevitable.
Our technological knowledge is growing at ever increasing rates.
That is both good and bad.
The good is that if we keep growing our decendents will be able to travel away from our solar system so that even when the sun is gone our decendants could find another place to live.
The bad is that we are now manipulating energy at levels capable of destroying all life on our planet.
Similar extinction possibilities occurred when man started to utilize fire. At that time there were not very many people on the earth and a large fire might have killed enough people that other events might have killed the remainder of the population. we were not so unlucky that the inferno occurred and so we are here today.

Yes, it is possable. Very possable. As in, inescapable.
I say inescapable because the world will eventually end, and once that happens, humanity will cease to be. The sun is like a ticking time bomb that is set to explode, but don't worry, you will not be alive. Every star explodes after a while. Our sun is still yellow, so it has a long way to go.
Hey, buck up! We'll probably just kill each other in a nuclear war before the sun explodes!

It is inevitible that sometime in the future people will become extinct. If not due to some people induced catastrophic condition then eventually it will be because the sun burns out.

Humans are no different from other life forms when it comes to being subject to becoming extinct. However, man is the ONLY life form that has the potential to hasten the result . . . which they are doing in leaps and bounds, by the way!

It is possible. Throughout the earth's evolutionary history we have seen the dominating species become extinc for some reason or another (i.e. dinosaurs). There is always the possibility of another mass extinction. However, I believe it is a far stretch, and if we go down, we won't go down alone.

Of course. But we have a leg up on all the preceding species that have gone extinct: the ability to reason our way out of a jam. That is immensely powerful.
