Alexander the great was a king who fought hard in alto of wars in he was a great thinker he had a army of 40,000 men who were not afraid to die they protected Alexander the great with there lives to the end but Alexander the great was killed at the age of 33 but no not on the battle field in his house were he slept but some one unknown till this day no one will never known who it was some say it was some one close to him

Because he won many battles while being badly outnumbered. Remember back in his times it was hand to hand combat so numbers did mean a lot. So it required much more strtegy to win an ancient battle if you were outnumbered. It's not like modern time where an army unit can be outnumbered 50-1, then call in some close air support and even things up.
