I do not believe in God. You should have a look at the book "Why God wont go away" by Andrew Newberg, 2001. It explains why God has been made up by the human brain during the course of evolution in response to the fear humans have of death and nothingness. God "appeared" when the 1st humans started having feelings toward their fellowman and as they died, started wondering where they went after they died, what they were doing here...existantial questions. Because there is no real answer to this (we just live, and die, and thats it), then "something" bigger than us had to be responsible, had to be looking after us. The book also explains how repetitive movements in religious practises (such as chapelet counting, for catholics, or continual chanting for Buddhists...) actually confuses the brain in defining the Self and the surroudings the person gets the feeling of "belonging" to the rest of the surroundings, or seeing a light, or sensing a Presence, of becoming one with the World.
If you are religious, you wouldnt believe in evolution either I guess.

No, I don't. It's a personal decision, mostly. The word of the Bible does not gel with the ideas I have developed through life. I also have a difficult time believing in something that sounds supernatural. If you can give me a rational explanation supported by evidence that does not fall within the same text that supports Christ, I'm more likely to accept it (in other words, the information has to be independently verifiable).

This isn't to say I don't respect Christ or his teachings. I do believe he was a real man who had wonderful ideas about love. I just think those ideas were corrupted by those who wanted to gain control over society/gain power.

I read your question because I love Jesus and I love Chocolate. But anyway, yes, I believe in the Christian God. Why? Because there is more scientific evidence to prove that there is God than there is scientific evidence to prove there there isn't one. In addition, my personal life experiences have proven to me that there is a God and that He cares about each one of us. Oh, and I believe in Chocolate too.

I do believe in HIM. I have theory, if you ask the majority of religions, they will say satanists are evil (devil worshipers). So if that is what is wrong, then the opposite of that (in my reasoning) must be right. Satanists seem to ignore all other religions, but attack Christianity. So judging religion by who the (agreed upon) enemy is in conflict with, my conclusion is that the Christian God is the real one.

Yes, but I also believe that most religions worship the same God, just use different names and have different ways of doing it.

I believe there are many roads to God.

Whether the name is Allah, God or Ahura-Mazda, I believe in a higher deity
