I'm from Minnesota and I'm constantly being told that I have a funny accent.... is it true that people from Minnesota talk different?? Because as far as I can tell we sound normal.

YES! Yall's "o" sound is so funny. I have to admit, I love hearing the Minnesota/Winconsin accents. Especially with the "o" sound, it's like....I can't even think of a way to type it out. But it's adorable. You can't hear it because no one can hear their own accent.

Not that I have any room to talk, I'm told I have a heavy Cajun accent. Yeah right!

I wouldn't call it funny at all, just a distinguishable accent. I'm from Kentucky, and I totally understand. I always get the "Awww...say something else..." comments while on vacation. You become immune to hearing the accent because you were either raised in that area or have lived there for quite some time. I would trade a major organ to have any accent other than my own. People hear me speak, and just assume (because of the drawl) that I am an idiot. It is always nice to prove them wrong, though.
Back to your question...it's not funny, it's cute. Don't worry about it and the rest will fall in place. Take care. :)

I'm from Minnesota too but live in the south now. I hear that constantly too. People tell me I have an accent, but I can't tell. I think everybody in the whole world has an accent.

Yes, you probably have an accent. Once you begin to travel the US and the world, it will be more obvious to you. An accent isn't a bad thing though there are some careers that require that you lose it, just as there are careers that require that you be able to pick up an accent on demand.

Yes there is an accent in Minnesota (and Western Wisconsin) speech. We emphasize our vowels a bit more. One cause of this is that many of us have a Scandinavian heritage) My choral director says that this is a good thing when it comes to singing.
