I started my period about a year and a half ago. I know that it can be irregular for the two years after you start, but for the past eight months it had been regular. However, since the end of November 2006, I haven't had it once (that's 73 days, if my counting is correct). I passed it off for stress because the first time I missed it, we had all of these projects due at the same time, and I was basically in hysterics. The second time was when I was studying constantly for exams, so again, I thought it was due to stress. I'm more relaxed now, though, and my next period (I've only missed two so far) would be due in about a week if it had stayed regular. Should I wait to see what happens, and then visit a doctor if it doesn't come, or should I visit a doctor now? (Note: I am not, nor have I ever been, sexually active, and I will be 16 in March).

Hi there ,
Firstly , your right in saying that periods are not regular in the first 2 years and even longer when your only young. Stress , not eating properely , loosing weight could all be reasons as too why. Another thing , is that worrying about when your period is going too come could be causing stress which would mean that its going too be delayed even longer!
Go and see the doctor too put your mind at ease , they may run some tests just too make sure everythings okay. But honestly , i think that giving it a few weeks will do the trick. It must be frustrating but just give your body time! Take care and good luck! .

don't be upset if the doctor makes you take a pregnancy test even after you tell him you're not sexually active--mine did too when i had some health issues last year. are you making sure you are eating regularly? one of the things that can mess up your menstrual cycle is poor nutrition, especially eating so little you are underweight for your age and body type

it would desire to be the two. in case you have a common pass this cycle then i could guess on the exchange throughout the time of classes. whether that's quite easy then i could take a being pregnant attempt. solid success to you, God bless, and that i'm hoping a Congratulations is in keep for you! Have a awesome day!

My first 2 years I had really odd irrigular periods. some times 3 months spaces. You should be fine, but if it bothers you go see a doctor.

Yes, wait to see if it comes and if it doesn't, go see your doctor. He may want a pregnancy test (mainly because most girls 13 and over are sexually active and deny it), so take the test, and see what he has to say.

Its probably stress, or irregularity, but I would wait and see if your next period arrives on time, but if it doesn't arrive go and see a doctor as soon as you can.

are you underweight? because if you dont have enough body fat your body will not produce a period. i didnt have mine for 2 years. its reallyyyy bad for your body though, so go see a doctor.

You should go to your family doctor and see if he has any ideas of specialty doctors.
