If you use AVG free Internet security download? Do you enable windows firewall can still use the yahoo toolbar

Question

I had Norton anti virus but dowloaded AVG FREE version thers no firewall so i assume you use windows Then I ran out of webroot
spyware I noticed yahoo toolbar , has a free download for spyscan would that workin liieu of webroot ? Or would it conflict I wanted to stop Norton only because I was told its slowing down the speed any help would be help AVG only doesn't have tech should something go wrong I feel so stupid can someone help me please no negative remmarks I am trying to learn

First, i had the exact same problems you had. I plan to get webroot later with the antivirus check for $19 US, maybe next month. I have to find where I saw it. I run Norton's because if a virus tries to get on I have active coverage. I also have the free version of AVG. What they do not tell you that AVG and Yahoo! anti-virus Defender are not active. In other words, they run and find viruses only when you run the programs. But Norton's is like a firewall in a way in that it prevents the virus from taking root and AVG and Yahoo! do not.
Norton's may slow your computer down but it is negligible. What you have to do is weekly defrag your system. Also how much memory do you have. Check for how much memory your computer can handle and how much you have in it now. Also if your computer is like 10 years slow, of course it will be slow. There are so many factors. But leave the Norton's on though.
