I am truly scared, we moved in exactly a year ago, and I've never felt anything in my house (such as ghosts). Although, when I was younger, I had this imaginary friend, and as I got older, I realized it was following me around, and maybe its not an imaginary friend anymore. Well, a few minutes ago, I was walking into my bedroom, and I passed by the guest bedroom... I looked in, and I saw a quick flash of light. I gasped, and looked to see if any lights were on, and it turns out, there was not a single light on in the house. I think this "thing" is following me around and has been, wherever I move! Help!

I'm a teenager, I am not stupid or crazy, but it freaked me out! Oh, and btw, in every picture I've taken in this house, someone, or something, appears to be standing right behind me.

Calmly and clearly explain to it that it can't stay there anymore. It has to leave. It has to move on. I can no longer be in that house anymore.

You, the living, are the one with the power. Just let it know that the time has come to move on. You just need to be calm and firm about it.

O.k. I've read some of the responses and some give pretty good advice. However, that being said, you mentioned the fact that you had an imaginary Friend when you were younger. What do you remember of this Friend. Think on this for a few minutes because it may be the key to your problem. It's very possible it wasn't so very imaginary to begin with. Did you ever tell the Friend goodbye?
Did you ever let them know that your friendship had to take a backseat to other events in your life with living Friends and family?
Maybe all you have do is have a conversation with this "Friend".
It may be a little one sided if you can't hear the reply. But I'm sure the "entity" will understand. Try to be kind as you would to any Friend. Maybe ask your parents to be with you when you do this so your not frightened. But if you can keep in your minds eye what your imaginary Friend looked like then there shouldn't be a problem. Talking to this "Friend" shouldn't be any different than if you were talking to a living, breathing person. Just let them know that they are frightening you and making you upset and they need to leave your home and move on!

I've lived in three haunted homes in my lifetime. So, here's the scoop:
They can't really hurt you, so there's nothing to be afraid of. Did you see something out of the corner of your eye? This is where I usually see things and or people. It's okay, you're not alone.

Turn on the lights if it helps you to calm down. Turn on a radio or television set to take your mind off of what just happened. Here's why:
The more energy you feed into thinking about it, the more scared you'll be and the more stuff you'll see, therefore the more scared you'll be....and so on...and so on.

It's possible because you're young, that your imaginary friend wasn't imaginary. My little baby sister used to see our dead grandparents and describe them to me and point to where they were. She also saw other people at the time, but now as she's gotten older she doesn't see things very much anymore. Mostly because she's gotten older and stopped believing in things like that.
One school of thought is to just talk to the spirit. Ask it what it wants and how you can help it. Remember, if it is a ghost, it's just the ghost of a person. Maybe a person that needs some help. As I don't believe in demons and all that religious rubbish, I wouldn't be afraid of anything like that.

Cheer up and call a friend on the phone. Hearing a live voice (pardon the pun) will do you lots of good right now.

Well on my trip to Europe last year i went on a tour that takes u into a graveyard with an active poltergeist it can give people burns cuts bruises and also knock them out it has happened because on the way back from a tour of another group i saw people carrying a fainted guy and when i went to my hotel that night i had a long scratch on my stomach and i didn't have it that morning nor did i fell getting it so they do exist. I also experrienced some wierd things like i felt being watched while on my computer and one night i heard a roar and saw a whight light flash across my room. But it passed. It could be a ghost in that case it meanse no harm and just does what id normally did there when it lived there just ignore or it. If it persists call in a priest or a supernatural specialist.

Okay, I am a Christian and I don't believe in ghosts, but I do believe in spirits.....no it's not the same. A spirit would be a demon....I believe (you don't have to; I am not pushing my beliefs on anyone) that when a person dies they go before God right away to be judged. It says in in the bible, there is no souls walking the earth waiting for the light or watching over someone or haunting something or what ever. But, like I said the bible does mention spirits EVIL spirits; which is again demons. I believe that they do allow themselves to be seen by people....they do mess with people etc. But, these were NOT people at one time; once an angel always an angel, once a demon always a demon....People do not turn into angel's again, it's NOT in the bible.

So, yes, I would have your house blessed. I would pray for protection and command that it leave in the name of Jesus Christ. But, it could be hard, and if it's following you around you may have opened a door somehow....like for example using a "Ojua Board" or something like that, or someone in your family may have....but again, seek help from someone in your church (if you go to one) they can and will help you!!!!

Get your house blessed, watch you you allow into it!!!!

Good luck and God bless you!!

because you are a teen, i can't offer you house cleansing advice, it belongs to your parent(s).

however...there are things that entities do not like.

. noise. turn on radios, t.v.s and lights. do this when you feel the presence. if poss, do a lot at once and leave. if there are others there this probably isn't possible.

. onions. cut an onion in half and leave it in the room(s). there are herbs you can use as well in mojo's. check out wiccan/pagan sites.

. ring a bell. if you have a small bell (or even a large one) ring it in a rhythmic manner. hang chimes in the room(s). this dispels negative energy.

. burn sage. it comes in all varieties, you can even find it in incense. just becareful, don't start any fires.

. declare it shall leave. come up with your own mantra. it doesn't have to rhyme or use any form of god if you don't want it to although it can. i'm pagan, and i still use "by the power of jesus christ of nazareth, return from where you came." it's your will and conviction that will make it work. plus, jesus was a pretty good guy, and a fan of the downtrodden.

i think you should discuss all this with your parent(s) if you can. if not, do what you can. do not attempt any ritual with out consulting an adult and a professional. DO NOT attempt to contact it, thru an oracle (i.e. ouija board or seance.) don't even speak to it like it's a person.

good luck.

You have some kind of power or ability that this "friend" is interested in. Search your feelings as to what this could possibly be. This is the only reason these types usually hang around. Once you know, You can tell them to take a hike if you so desire and they most likely will.

Talk to your parents about this. You mentioned that you are a teen so I assume you still live with your parents or at least one of your parents. See if they have noticed anything. If you say every picture you have taken in that house has something in it and this thing follows you from place to place then why isn't it in pictures from previous houses? I would suggest telling your parents and seeing a paranormal specialist.

maybe it is your imaginary friend, he/she is missing you a lot but try to tell him/her calmly and softly that you're sorry you don't talk to her anymore it's just you're too old to have an imaginary friend. But I'm also thinking it might be a demon or something (not to scare you more) just pray and calm your self up put many angel figurines around (if you want) to put it away.
