I know these are signs but do I know if my period is coming soon ? I read articles and they say soon after you start discharge that you will get your period but I havent. Are abdominal pains a closer sign? PLEASE HELP!!

You can tell your going to get your period when:
-Major Discharge
-Wanting to eat sweets all the time
-Moody
-Starting to develop your body
-Body hair

Seems like your going to get it soon, talk to your mother, be sure to be open with her about it

Well for starters it depends on many things: Whats your age? Do you play sports?do you eat a healthy diet?

I only got my period last yr, i was getting really worried as i was over 17 yrs old! I was an athlete for many years though and was on a strict diet so my periods were sure to be later than other girls. I had discharge for yrs before i got my period but i have heard that this is a sign they are coming. Pains could also be a sign but seriously dont worry, they will come when your ready.

Yes, those are cramps and you'll have them once a month for the next 30 years or so..... and yes a discharge is also another sign... you're getting very close so get either tampons or pads...(it's best to start out with pads Always are the preferred brand) and have them on hand also Midol a heating pad and chocolate will become your best friend that time of the month.
Congratulations on becoming a woman....

12-13 is the usual age. And it does sound like it is coming for you. It usually takes around a week and a half after you start getting cramps for it to start.

I agree completely. You are not missing out on anything.

the abdominal pains might be a sign of your period. talk to your mom or a woman that you trust about it, just to make sure that it isn't something serious.

i got my period in the middle of the night, so i didn't feel any cramping or anything.

U don't say how old you are. But I wouldn't worry, it sounds like it's coming. Don't be in such a rush for it to come. Enjoy not having it while you can.
Good luck = )
