God created it :)

Tough question. On the same wavelength, who created God? I think your subquestion is misleading. Math had nothing to do with the start of the universe, science in the sense of scientific theory maybe, will try to explain it, but not science directly.

Both are equally hard questions to answer, you'll get philosophers and freethinkers and believers, etc, but not one with an open mind for other people's answers.

I don't think science will be able to explain the start of the universe. What exactly is the "Big Bang"? Something out of nothing. Something so small exploded 15 billion years ago and started the entire universe. That's a theory calculated from the mathematical expansion of the universe. I'm not sure if the center has been found, has it? It would be nice to go back in time, but again, time travel is a mathematical theory.

It would be nice if people kept an open mind about Religion and Atheism. We all have a conscience and can think things through, let's use our brain a little bit more and instead of closing it.

Peace.

I don't think it was "created" at all. And science and mathematics are just human conventions for understanding the universe; they aren't what the universe is actually made of.

I subscribe to the Big Bang theory personally, and I think most of the astrophysics community does as well. Science has studied this theory extensively but there are still plenty of questions. FWIW, I also believe in God, and that God created the universe -- His method, I believe, was the Big Bang.

I believe that God created the universe, as well as the laws which set the universe in motion which Man later discovered and named math and science. I don't believe an equation and a few formulas came together and created our universe and you and me, but everyone's entitled to his or her own opinion.

According to a natural law, conservation of energy and mass, the concept of creation is not correct.
However, the universe was 'created' when Big Bang happened.
It is a significant discovery and achievement.

I don't know. I am open minded about all the theories. From old fables, cultural stories, bible to big bang and such, I am interested to hear.

I am hopeful that there will be an ultimate answer revealed that satisfy everyone. Till then, I am a good listener.
