If you have a 27 by 20 foot lawn and wish to put a concrete sidewalk 3 feet wide around the lawn and need to buy 2x4 inch lumber, how many feet of lumber would you need for the perimeter of walk?
I figured it out to be 212 feet. Am I right?

p=2l+2w=2*27+2*20=54+40=94'
for the inside perimeter.
for the outside, l & w are each increased by 6' (3' on each side)
p=2(27+6)+2(20+6)=2*33+2*26=66+52=118'
94'+118'=212'

Very good.
