My son is there, and i cant find any info on it he is in the army

There isn't actually a town called Puli Lama in Afghanistan.

I think your son could be refering to PULI ALAM (or Pol-e Alam, Pol-e stands for town or settlment) Which is a small town in the Logar province about 60KM SE from the capital Kabul.

You can look at a list of the names of all the towns in Afghanistan on this site. There is a very small villiage called Lamya but it has no Pol-e prefix. So I don't think your son is stationed there.
