Hubby and I don't particularly like the name Jacob, but we love the name Jake. Problem is, since Jake has only one syllable, it doesn't sound too great with the middle name we have in mind, which is Charles, a family name we'd really like to use.

Do you know of any names, other than Jacob, from which Jake is derived, and would match well with the middle name of Charles? Thanks!

How about Jackson Charles? I kind of see how you can derive Jake from Jackson.

I also think that Jake Charles sounds kind of cool. It sounds like a bigshot actor from the 1920's. If he becomes an actor, he's got a fabulous stage name.

Good luck!

I think that Jacob is the best option.

The only other name I can think of is Jacques with the nickname Jake. I am not sure that is a better fit.

Jacob Charles is so cute, in my opinion. Jake Charles doesn't have a bad flow either. How about Charles Jake Lastname and then call him Jake?

Sorry I am not much help! SD

Sorry, don't know of any other long form of Jake... You could just name him Jacob for legal purposes and call him Jake... most people don't call you by your full name anyway... unless you want to call your child by both first and middle name... then I would suggest DeJay Charles.

My cousins name is Jake and his wife named all 3 of their boys something with Jake in their names:
Jake
Jacob
Jaketh
I know she tried her best at naming them after him and if she would of had a girl she said she would have named her Jakelyn.

Ja(k/c)ob(i/e)? Like with a "bee" on the end. Unless you want to be more inventive and make up your own original name, those are the only ones that start with Jak or Jac that have that "a" and "c/k" sound. The other ones would be better pronounced with the same "a" sound as apple and the soft "c" sound.

Jacoby, like the singer in Papa Roach (then he has the option of being either Jake or Coby)
