I had 2 ferrets and now down to 1. Sable the one that has passed away had skin tumors. Skin tumors usually present themselves as lumps under the skin or on the surface of the skin. Some tumors look like red, raised scabs, others may be crusty and rough. This is especially important to ferrets over three years of age. If you find anything on your pet's skin that looks out of the ordinary, don't sit around and wait, make an appointment with your vet. The best treatment for a skin tumor is, whether benign or malignant, is surgical removal. In case of malignant tumors, prompt removal prevents their spread. Your vet will probably recommend that a piece of the tumor be sent to a lab for analysis. Good luck!

i would definately take her to a vet, i have a ferret too, and if she had a bump on her shoulder i would take her to a vet, because only a vet would know what it is, after some tests.

Before you freak out about cancer, understand that she could have a simple cyst. You need to go a veterinarian and have them check. It is a simple procedure to have it removed.

Take her to the vet. Only they know for sure. Whatever it is, it should be removed.
