I have heard of this in connection with the evangelical movement in the United States - the same sorts of people who hold purity balls and attend summer camps like the one in "Jesus Camp".
I don't think this is romantic at all, just stupid.

One of the most common questions spouses ask when confronting a marriage crisis is this: How can I save my marriage if my partner doesn't want to help find a solution? How do I succeed I am trying to save my marriage on my own? Learn here https://bitly.im/aMmaR It is a typical enough story: one partner leaves, the other stays. One remains 'in love', the other is uncertain. Whatever it is that has caused a couple to be apart, the one person who remains bears the prospect, fear, doubt, desire, hope of saving his or her marriage' alone.

Not sure why it's in this section, but I'll give it a go.
My younger cousins were raised in an Assemblies of God household and church. They were advised to do this, to save their first kiss for their wedding day or at least engagement. One felt horribly guilty when she kissed her boyfriend at age 16. She has since decided it's okay.
Joshua Harris, a Christian author that one of them told me about, advises people to do this. I think it's cruel and unrealistic.

A vow would be kind of extreme. There are people who do not need or want a lot of physical contact in a relationship.
Lets back off the hate.

Actually, I don't think it's a good idea to save your first kiss until after marriage, because I strongly believe that the first kiss tells you everything. BUT, not everyone believes in that. I also imagine it might be difficult to abstain from kissing your partner until you're married. And vice versa. But if you really love your partner and he loves you, and you both can wait until marriage to kiss, have sex, everything. Then it'll be 1000x better when you finally DO do it. Especially when the first kiss is going to be at the wedding and in front of everyone you both love...it's pretty sweet =)

Ah, this is a bit extreme, but I suppose there are people who may do it! I had mine in 7th grade, so much for my vow!

You are joking, right? Those who "saved" themselves for marriage are very often highly disappointed in the interest the savings account paid. I cannot imagine marrying without a kiss...I seriously doubt that anyone would get a chance to marry if they hadn't made out a lot. I highly advise against any of this saving....divorces are running high enough as it is. No need in adding more problems to the fire.

I saw a couple on one of those tv wedding shows (TLC I think) that did that. Their first kiss was the wedding kiss. I thought it was the weirdest thing ever.

that sounds romantic. Just think...you'd be the first person to ever kiss their sweet lips....that sounds like a good idea...-_-; one that I'm probably going to do, the way my none exsistent love life is heading...
