A blood test will show if you are pregnant 7 days following conception.

If you do not chart or monitor your fertility in any way, and you think you may have conceived, you should wait 19 days (or longer) after having sex to test. Why 19?! Sperm can live approximately 5 days in the proper environment; if the sperm managed to live until you popped an egg, the actual conception could have taken place several days after the sex act that got the sperm there. To make sure you're not testing too early, assume the sperm had very long lives (5 days is considered a very long sperm life) and that conception occurred then. Then allow 14 days for the embryo to implant and develop enough hCG to show up on a pregnancy test (96% of pregnant women will test positive by then.)

I have not heard about the blood pregnancy test. Only urine test though. Perhaps i do not know.
I went to the doc after the possible conception and he said there is one way, have an injection and if you aren't pregnant, the period will be appear in 1 week or 10 days (i barely can recall the exact period to wait) and then if you are pregnant, then you can't do anything except abortion. If you aren't, then the menstruation will start. Otherwise, wait until the next menstrual period.
In Asia (i don't know in the USA or other countries), they have a type of birth control pill. You can take it within 72 hours after intercourse and only one pill at a time. No need to take it everyday. If you are in that range, and can find out that type of pill, it will be great.
good luck.

I recommend visiting www.twoweekwait.com

The women who visit the site post their symptoms for two weeks following ovulation and post the tests they take and on what day it shows positive. They even have photos of different HPT's and how early they show positives. Some of the tests on that site show results pretty early.

Best of luck to you.
