If having an opium poppy plant is not illegal to own, why doesn't anywhere sell it? has anyone seen one?

I think that oriental poppies are about the same. They probably don't produce the latex that makes opium. They look identical.

If you live in the united states, it is illegal to own such a poppy plant.

you can grow poppys from seeds. the plants don't take well to being transplanted and having their roots messed with so you usually can't find them already growing in pots.
