How do I know if my Wii has the new and improved strap?

I bought a sealed and with receipt Wii off of craigslist. It works great and I'm happy with the purchase. But how do I know if the Wii has the new and improved strap?

Just go to Nintendo's web site and search for the wrist strap recall. It will ask you to enter your Wii's serial number, and if it determines that you don't have the newest strap, it will ask you to enter some more info. If it has the newest strap, then it should tell you that you have the newest strap.

Basically, if you got the Wii after December 2006, then you have the newest straps.
