I know if you are on the phone is one way & in the bath or shower or washing up or even near the sink I think
best not to take the risk & wait til the storm is over before you do any of that stuff I mentioned

When you see the bolt of lightning and hear a very loud thunder that can pierce through your heart , really terrifying. Was at the living room when i experienced it.Well occasionally you will get shocked by the sound of thunder because it has to be really very loud like my experience to feel a little jumpy. This was like few months back.
If u mentioned out of my house, it would have been seeing a schooolboy being struck by lightning which is shocking and really very pitiful.Gosh why did the boy stand under a coconut tree, avoid trees at all costs.

It's very rare to get shocked in your house from lightning, but I guess it could happen if you were using a corded phone during a thunderstorm. Most of the time, I get shocked from walking across a carpet in cold weather and touching something that's grounded. It's called static electricity.

My mom got mildly shocked once on the phone during a rain storm, you can get it from any water source too (shower, tub, sink,), because, it's "Grounded".
