No, it's possible to have a vaginal birth after a c-section if the conditions are right. A VBAC can be done (here it costs $2400) but the doctor will be able to tell if it will harm the mother and/or the child and another c-section will be performed.

Im a nurse and I work in labor and delivery, VBAC's (Vaginal birth after cesarean) was very popular for a while... but recent studies have shown that the risk for uterine rupture increases greatly. Only your doctor can look at your unique situation and decide if a VBAC is possible for you. Many doctors will give it a try while keeping you closley monitored if its what you truly want (again depending on your history)

If your scar from your previous section runs across your lower abdomen (just above the pubic hair line), you have a better chance to deliver vaginally. If the scar is from the navel down, the uterus has a greater chance of rupturing diring contractions.
I had two sections and the doctor would not consider a vaginal birth for my second child, due to the first incision which was from top to bottom.
This is something that you and your doctor must decide.

I think what you are asking is if you can go on to have a vaginal birth after having a csection....
Yes you can its called VBAC which stands for Vaginal Birth After Caesarean. It all depends on how your original csection was done and if the scar from it on your uterus is strong enough not to rupture. If you want to have a VBAC you always have that choice , unless the doctors say you cannot. I hope this helps.

I know where I live as of March 1, 2007 you cannot have a VBAC any longer because of liability issues.

Not necessarily, but it makes it much more difficult and dangerous. Now go ask your real doctor instead of strangers online.
