How can anyone be bored now days... you are right it is lack of direction.
Is it direction leading you to your purpose you seek? And is it esoteric spirituality you are interested in, or a career?
Meditate daily, how? Go to a mediphysical book store look for books on how to meditate, they also have many wonderful CD's you can listen to. Find one you connect with.
Look around this store look at all things that call out to you. Don't worry, look for signs, any sign. When the student is ready the teacher will come.
Other things, people, books, articles or material objects, may call out to you. If you are not connecting in this book store, then, try a regular book store and look to books that call out to you. Saturate yourself with books that you find interesting.
Meditation calms the mind and gets you in-touch with your higher or inner self. You may find many answers here. After meditating, write down in a daily journal your thoughts or things that may have come up in meditating, no matter how silly or insignificant you may think it may be. Now it may not mean something, however later it could have meaning. The more often you do this, the better you will get at it, and soon you will look forward to it!
Everything you know is already inside you, you just need to plug into it, and connect with it! Books are a big key to help you connect with your innerself!
Well, that is one direction, now it's up to you to go find your purpose!
Trust in yourself, and trust in the universe. Follow your gut instinct, it will never lie to you.
And, don't take life so serious, enjoy the ride!

Instead of looking at the big picture, go smaller. Look at the little things you enjoy in life. It can be the simplest thing that can give you pleasure. For instance, I live in Iowa, and we have a lot of open fields with corn and greenery in the summer. As a kid, I was bored to death with it. But as I got older, I started to appreciate how tall the corn gets, how many shades of beautiful green there are in a field in the summer in Iowa, etc.
Now, I find drives down I-80 absolutely gorgeous, and just seeing the bright green of the grass against the trees and the crops is enough to make me smile.

well you could try going to college and get a degree, a job would be something swell too, or even dating, community service, spending time with family, planning ahead and thinking about your own future family, buy a pet.....just to name a few things. The rest is up to you, but remember your life is precious; don't waste it. Good luck:)

I think you are not searching what you want, but you are following others. Sit down and think what you want for your life. That should be your's life direction.

Read and write pointless things on Yahoo Answers.
It may not be the most important thing to do, but it helps others cure boredom as well.
P.S. Thanks
P.S.S. School or some club will get you doin something.

Go to your local women's shelter and offer to volunteer.
It's an amazingly rewarding experience and could launch you in a lot of different directions, both socially or even professionally, depending on your specialty.

STOP SEARCHING!
It's impossible to find your life's purpose...it's invented.
Learn guitar...play golf...try to do something by random choice.
