It is a reputable site which enlists the use of amazing experts who endeavor to turn the table on scammers and scam them instead. It's very informative, and some of the anti-scam techniques are quite clever and hilarious.

419, incidentally is a name given to various versions of the "Nigerian" scam. It also operates on fax machines. A Yahoo! search will give you lots of hits for more info, but Eater is just plan fun.

That was on the news and the people are in an Island computer cafe somewhere. They make a living at this. They take your money and there is nothing you can do. The best thing for you to do is deleat and block. What ever you do - Do not send money. This is a scam to get you to support them and their families because they are to lazy to work.

It's a scam. Mark those emails as spam and make sure they are on your blocked sender list. The deal is you respond, and they tell you for a "fee" they will see that you get whatever bigger sum of money that is mentioned in the email. Of course if you pay the fee, you never hear from them again and your money is gone. They operate outside of the USA and are pretty much untouchable by most laws.

These scams are called phishing scheemes because they are fishing for your personal information. They will use any tactic they can think of to get you to reveal you social security num, drivers liscense num, or bank account numbers, just whatever they need to steal your identity. Next thing you know, there are charges from panama on your credit card. Or more likely, your credit rating is wrecked becuase someone has a credit card in your name that you know nothing about.

You should NEVER open these messages. As soon as you get one of these, send it straight to the trash bin without opening it. It is 100% of the time a scam.
