Yeah, you could travel the country. But are you willing to do without the creature comforts? Electicity, running water, hot food every night? Trust me, its fine, if it's just you and no one else! After all, guys can find work anywhere, right? I personally have lived and survived in a car, van, tent, for at least a year? Are you willing to go that far? Or you just talking the talk, but not walking the walk??? And I am female with a child back than?

i think that if you really want to do it, then you should consider all the factors.
- you will need money for gas or "rent" haha
which may mean you need a job, and in which case, it might be best to just stay in one place and not travel to much.
- you will need a way to wash yourself and your clothes, it will be the only thing seperating you from a yucky hippy, although some hippies rock.
- you will also need money for food, supplies and repairs
- be prepared for lonlyness for there are few who would join you on such a bold adventure
- make sure you know your van inside and out so that if there is a problem you can hanlde it.
there are of course more things to consider, but i think this covers the basics.
if you can figure all these things out i think it would be amazing for you to go!
live your life the way you want, it sounds like it would be very exciting

Are you talking about a regular van or a mobile home trailer? If you are talking about a regular van then I would say no. Buying a van and living in it is not a good idea. What will you do about food, water, bathroom and shower?

Why not, I hitchiked all over the country for about a year and a half in 77 and 78. Does not cost much. Watch out for weird people though people are much stranger today and things are not like they were back then.

I've thought about that. Only problem is, it'd get cold at night if you were in a cold climate area! You could let the van idle all night, but that would waste a lot of fuel. I think that would be sweet.
