Absolutely. They learn from and reflect everything around them - their parents, their friends, the society they live in, in general. Adults do it too, but the difference is that children will innocently show us our true natures with the simplest of looks and questions which adults would never dare to ask. Excellent question.

Children pick up and imitate the behavior around them, not mirrors exactly more like myna birds.

Yes. Monkey see, monkey do. I see my kids do stuff all the time that I do. I have a bad habit of stomping my foot when they do something wrong, and the other day, I spilled some milk and my 3 year old saw me. She stomped her foot and said Now you better clean that up missy! I almost fell over laughing. But you do have to be careful what you say and do, kids pick up on stuff quick, good or bad.

Every time I look at any of my children, I see a part of me somewhere. Scary what they learn from what I never intended to teach them- but it is such an honor to see a reflection in them of the things in which I pride myself!
