Teenagers are still kids themselves. It's not fair to the child or themselves to be in the situation. They themselves haven't had enough life experiance to help guide another growing being. Chances are the teenager's parent would do most of the child rearing. It has nothing to do with partying, simply life experiance and biological growth.

well it all depends on the maturity level of the teenager you are talking about, personally my mother had me when she was 18 and i've grown up fine so far, i'm an Honor Roll student i stay out of trouble and my mom is a very good role model but let's say that the teen still does idiotic things like locks herself in her room or has hissy fits i think it would be best for the parent to put the baby up for adoption and just be a close friend to the child or an "aunt" or have the mom raise it

I don't think it's a matter of asking whether they're good parents. I do believe the question is are they ready to be good parents. Some teenagers haven't gotten all of the partying out of their system and this might cause them to be bad parents. Now I don't believe this the only factor but I do believe it has a big thing to do with it.

The thing is why would a teenager want to be a parent at 14, 15 , 16, or 17, you get the idea, what ever happened to safe sex,??

Honestly....no
Being a teenager, i don't feel like i have the time to be a parent right now. way too much going on...i'd probably be a bad parent
I love doing sports and hanging out with friends too much. It depends on what type of person u are. I think i'll be a good parent one day :)

they can be, it's just harder for them. you have to deal with school still, while supporting a baby, you're still inexperienced at relationship issues, which are bound to come up under that kind of stress, and you lose out on a part of your life experience, but then, you are better able to stay up all night, you have more energy to keep up with the kid, etc.
It all depends on the parents, there are parents in their 30s who shouldn't have kids, as long as you love the child, you are going to do fine.

i have had lots of friends that ended up being teen mothers. out of all the ones I've known only one of them gave up there partying and was a good mom. a lot of the times the teen will be a not so good parent but then they grow up and realize it and try extra hard to compensate for it.

i think it comes down to what values the parents have, teenagers or not, i see being a good parent as leading by example no matter what the age....
