Turn it around -- suppose it had been a British plane dropping bombs and killing an American soldier?

Those pilots will live with a nightmares more than you can imagine.

War is not prefect and mistakes will be made.

I have no doubt those pilots would do anything to switch places or stop it from happening.

I think the people who covered it up should be punished. I think the pilots simply made an unfortunate mistake they will always regret. They made an error. They did not mean to kill anyone among the allied forces. They thought the vehicle might belong to insurgents. However, since it is the higher ups who made the decision to cover this up, I think they should be punished. The families of the men who died and were injured had a right to know what happened. Also, this incident could be used during training excercises to teach recognition of allies over insurgents. Perhaps there should be a secondary system, other than orange panels which can apparently look like rockets, for allied forces to use to identify each other. BTW, during the first Gulf War there were plenty of times when we shot our own men by mistake.

i think our leaders who demand instant obediance to follow
any order unquestionable should be
you know they arnt allowed to even fly with out thier speed pill
can drug induced pilots be held to account
yes ,and they sound as if they have been.
but that feeling they have now should apply regardless of race /races bombed .
