Good question. Hmmm. You may have a point there. It could be that we are waiting for a re-confirmation of the initial praise. To see if it is serious. Or to project the image that we are humble and non-deserving.

Or maybe just one of those complex social interactions that allow us to receive praise without seeming to enjoy it. Though, of course, we do.

We are a funny lot. Aren't we?

I never refuse praise. I know how to take a compliment gracefully and return it equally as gracefully. I never assume ulterior motives when someone praises me. By the way, you're looking radiant today. 80)

Not me, even when i do well at something i always think i could of done better. I'm very critical of myself and don't take praise well.
