i phoned the honda people, they couldn't tell me if it was a LX or EX , hell they couldn't tell me what capacity the gasoline tank had! they just took my name and address down for any updates for the truck!

also, i know that the rodeo were the same thing, lol, i liked both of them and was happy when my darling hubby chose this type of truck, just didn't know it was a pain in the azz to work with!~

The year goes by the 10th digit of the VIN. Before 2000, it was a letter that corresponds to a year. That’s what they put on your reg. There is no such thing as half years. That’s just marketing

in the door will be one of the main stickers, will have the VIN and the date of manufacture on it. this is one way to date the vehicle.

normally 1/2 year models mean something major changed and a new model came out sooner or later than expected. unless yours looks like a 1996, you have a 1995.

VW just went through this with the new jetta....enough so they actually named it, The New Jetta, just to make sure people understood between the two models.

EX is over LX and I believe Passports came standard in LX. Being that its at 1/2 year, I am guessing without going back through pics, that this is when Honda took over the truck and quit buying re-badged Isuzu Rodeo's. During the end times, extra parts and items would become less in stock. So since its not labeled as a EX would be just to sell it, I would guess it as the LX, standard model.

Sorry to tell you that you have a Rodeo if you didn't already know it..many cars are this way. Chevy Trailblazer is 6 different brands for SUV, like Chevy, Saab, Buick, GMC, etc. All the new Saturn cars are actually imported Opels, another division of GM. A few years of the Lexus ES300 has been nothing more than a gussied up Toyota Camry. Even most new Lexus vehicles are nothing more than dressed up Toyotas till they actually build their own version.

It seems that the EX is an up grade to the LX offering power moon roof and wood grain in interior. The link may answer other questions you have.

As far as the half year I'm not sure but I would recommend calling Honda directly and speaking with someone ! They should know how to at least find out !

You can get a membership to Carfax or autocheck.com and that will give you a run down of every spec on your car according to your vin. Including previous owners.

You can find out all this information from the VIN number, or check the number on the drivers door frame or door, each number and letter stands for something. Why don't you phone the 'Honda' plant, or actual place that they made the car. They will let you know. I know that the Pontiac makers do this. They love to hear from people who own there vehicles.
