I think its a jade.... a chinese jade, or african jade?
or is this a turquise kind of stone? what is the white part? white jade? this necklace is in the movie sahara, and im looking to make one like it...thanks

The green stones look like Turquoise judging from the color and the dark matrix on some of the stones. It could also be Chrysocolla or Dyed Howlite, but it's hard to tell from the photo.... The pale celadon hued stones could be Jadeite or Nephrite Jade. In the other set of photos showing the original necklace worn by Dirk's double, the green beads are definitely turquoise and the white beads and tubes look like bone or tooth. (BTW, I loved the movie Sahara!)

The very light colored stones could be jade but the darker green stones are malachite.

I would say aventureine, green agate, or green quartz
as for the white, probably white quartz or polished bone

it looks like jade. there are several other green minerals, such as malachite (which is a darker green), jadeite (yellow-green microcrystalline quartz), adventurine (which has a marbled look), and chrysophase (microcrystaline quartz, blue-green)
