When I type addresses in to my address bar it redirects me to yahoo websites of the same type. For example I will type NBA.com and and be directed to yahoo's baskeball website. I will type weather.com and instead of going to the weather channels website I am directed to yahoo's weather site. There are more examples of this. Does anyone know why this happens and how I can fix it?

How annoying!

It's probably spyware... they're well known for doing this.
Grab Spybot Search & Destroy - http://www.spybot.info/en/mirrors/index.html
And install it. Update it. Disconnect from the internet. Start it and scan your computer. Remove anything it finds. Reboot your computer and scan it again.

In the future you need to change some habits:
*Have an up to date anti-virus like AVG - http://free.grisoft.com/doc/5390/lng/us/tpl/v5#avg-anti-virus-free
*Have an up to date anti-spyware like Spybot - (You just installed it)
*Have an up to date and ALWAYS RUNNING firewall like Zonealarm - http://www.zonelabs.com/store/content/company/products/znalm/freeDownload.jsp
*And do more secure surfing using Firefox - http://getfirefox.com/

These are the bare minimum you need to do... there is more, but that'll start you off. Contact me when you need the next steps.

Go to tools in IE 7, click on a DELETE next to SETTINGS, then delete all files, cookies, history and forms... Click the red X button located to the top right of the message box to close that message box. Then click on ( Use Blank) button... Click OK located to the bottom... Then re-Open IE 7, Type: MSN.com, then go back to tools, select Internet options, then click on ( Use current) Click on the OK button located to the bottom again.

This should solve your problem.
