It depends on the subjects you are trying to study.

1. Cell theory, do some microscopy labs in which students use light microscopes to look at slides. Also, living human cheek cells (stained with Lugol's Iodine) and Elodea cells can be observed to complete the experience.

2. enzyme activity, get enzymes, like amylase, and starch or something and watch it work

3. Mitosis, onion root tip under microscope

4. Gel electrophoresis, if you can afford it.

well what you coud do is the classic disect a frog also by obtaining a larva "sarcafiga" aka maggot you could use it to view acctual chromosomes in the salivary glands if you have any questions just e mail me and i will give you the skematics
