The British license plate on the front fender of a BSA Gold Star motorcycle is MMR452.What does this mean?

I believe it has to do with time and geography.

MMR refers to the county the bike was registered in when new,452 refers to the number of registrations on the prefix MMR .eg MMR 1 to MMR999. British vehicles are only issued with one registration number and this lasts for the life of the vehicle.This number would have been issued somewhere around the 50s - 60s.

Should it have some meaning? It's a real plate? Like a custom plate and not a random one issued by the motor vehicle bureau?
