Purgatory is a doctrine in the Roman Catholic Church, which posits that those who die in a state of grace undergo a purification in order to achieve the holiness necessary to enter heaven.[1] This purification of the elect, while traditionally seen a fiery punishment for sins, is declared to be entirely different from the punishment of the damned in hell.[2] The Catholic doctrine holds that the souls in purgatory undergo temporal punishment due to venial sins or as satisfaction due to their transgressions,[3] and that they can be aided by the prayer and sufferings of the faithful and the Sacrifice of the Mass.[4] Hence central to the Roman Catholic doctrine of purgatory is prayer for the dead.

Hello there! I'm a Christian and so here is the right answer to your question. First, there is not such thing as purgatory. The Bible itself did not mentioned such but only described heaven and hell. The Bible says in John 3:3 - "Except a man be born again, he cannot see the Kingdom of God..." in John 1:12 it says - "But as many as received Him, gave he power to become the sons of God even to them that believe on His name." 2000 years ago Jesus died on the cross so that we can be saved. We need not do anything to be saved because we cannot save ourselves. We only need to accept JesusChrist in our hearts as our Savior so that we can be assured that when we die we'll go to heaven. I did the same last December 9, 1984, when i prayed and accepted Jesus in my heart and that is why i am sure that i'm going to heaven. The Bible also mentioned that after death is the judgment... if you do not have Jesus in your heart then you will go to hell but if you have received Jesus in your heart, you will surely go to heaven.
if you have more questions, i'd be willing to help you. I hope you'll find the real answer you're looking for. God bless you!

There is no purgatory. It's heaven, or hell, Bub.

On another point....

Leviticus 19:31
" 'Do not turn to mediums or seek out spiritists, for you will be defiled by them. I am the LORD your God.

Leviticus 20:6
" 'I will set my face against the person who turns to mediums and spiritists to prostitute himself by following them, and I will cut him off from his people.

Leviticus 20:27
" 'A man or woman who is a medium or spiritist among you must be put to death. You are to stone them; their blood will be on their own heads.' "

3. Accept all the sufferings, sorrows, pains and disappointments of life, be they great or small, ill health, loss of goods, the death of your dear ones, heat or cold, rain or sunshine as coming from God. Bear them calmly and patiently for love of Him and in penance for your sins. Of course, one may use all his efforts to ward off trouble and pain, but when one cannot avoid it let him bear it patiently. Impatience and revolt make sufferings vastly greater and more difficult to bear.
