I am just curious, since the U.K. supplied the US with so many, especially the Ulster Scotts (Presbytarian Scotts) in nothern Ireland. I dont see how Ireland still has people with as many as we have here in the US and they settled many in the southeast , we call it the "Bible Belt" and they are really conservative and very much Church goers.

yes they do, and like many other countries it is the extremeties that often are the most religious, in fact it's not that many years ago that the last parts of Scotland and Wales allowed things like pubs to open on a Sunday, and even in the last 30 years ther were parts of the Scottish Islands where NOTHING was open on a sunday, in fact you couldn't book into a hotel on a Sunday, if you were there on the Saturday and stayed over the sunday you were OK, but no booking in on a Sunday

I am sorry to say as a resident of Belfast th yes we do still have bible thumpers. In fact the place seems to be run over with the f**kers! The country is run by them, telling us wot we can and can't do. They, unfortunately, have a huge say in wot goes on here from denying us sport on Sundays to keeping us from being able to shop outside of the hours of 1 and 6 on Sundays. I wish they would piss off but unfortunately that doesn't look likely any time soon

We have a few crazy people shouting in the street. In the main, British people aren't very religious. Most people call themselves christian according to the census, but this need not even entail believing in God, and hardly anyone goes to church on a Sunday. More people go to mosques on a Friday than go to Church of England churches on a Sunday (although this doesn't take account of catholics and other kinds of christians).

We have some people who come up to you in the street or come to your house to convert you.I find laughing at them is the best way to get rid of them.
