If I could ask you a series of questions I am sure I could nail it for you, but I don't have that luxury. It sounds like Hemorragic septisemia or burned fins from high ammonia. Email your phone # to me if you want and I will question you a bit and likely give you a cause and solution. Thanks, jason (Phoenix Phish Care)

Unfortunately I can't make a diagnoses either, but I'll leave a piece of advice based on my own experiences through the hobby.

It's not worth medicating if we don't know the cause. Medications are tough on the livestock and a last resort. I would set up a hospital tank for him, run with a filter filled with media from the main filter, for an instant cycle. I'd do water changes daily and make sure conditions are as clean as I can manage. Then I'd wait and take my next step based on the progression or regression of the problem, and know the rest of my fish are still fine.

with out seeing the shark i don't know .it could be almost any number of illnesses.check his gills for anchor worms and or flukes.some times this can cause bleeding .try not to medicate to much its not good for other inhabitants.good luck to you and your shark.

Sounds like septicemia. Try this link: http://aquariumhobbyist.com/guppies/disease.html

Caused by water quality/ammonia and can self-resolve if water quality is improved!
