Actually at one point Paramount was planning on creating a new series that started off with Jack Bauer interrogating Captain Picard trying to extract the secrets of warp technology. Just as Picard is about to break, Bauer realizes the great evil he is perpetuating, not just against Picard, but against all mankind (and the federation). Amidst a flood of tears Bauer deactivates the barrier force field restraining Captain Picard the two embrace in a mighty hug.Through Picard's healing powers Bauer is healed of his PTSD and agrees to join the crew of the Enterprise as the new first officer. Bauer uses his position to continue to fight terrorism and frequently shoots terrorists and terrorist strongholds with the Enterprise's phaser cannons. As soon as the NSA caught wind of the proposed plot line they deemed it an act of sedition and the hard drives were erased remotely. A shame if you ask me.

Definitely... Picard is a wussie. That Cardassian that "tortured" Picard in Chain of Command made the mistake of reading/watching too much 1984. Even in that case, he was about to break before he was released. Put him in with an interrogator that actually knows what they are doing, Picard is toast.

Certainly. I can forgive someone of a murder. However, it isn't just to let them go without any punishment. But if I give them a punishment, then I am no longer merciful. Someone needed to pay for the crime in order to have justice. Christ was the scapegoat, and Christ loved each of us so much that he volunteered to be the one who will take on all of our punishments. The law of justice was fulfilled, and the law of mercy was as well. Think of it this way. Suppose someone owes you money, and they do not have the money within the amount of time they were supposed to pay you back. What do you do? Give them justice? Or give them mercy? Wouldn't you want both? In this case, someone(Christ) came and said he would pay the money that the debtor owes. Justice was fulfilled and the debtor was still given mercy. In order for me to BOTH forgive and receive justice from someone who wronged me, there has to be a third party who decides to take the punishment out of love. It could be my son, or it could be someone else. So there is no yes/no answer to your question since you're conveniently leaving out the fact that justice also had to occur. I am able to forgive without sacrificing my own son, but I am not able to forgive and receive justice at the same time unless there is a third party involved.

Might be able to get info from Capt. Picard. Couldn't get it from Capt. Kirk though. He'd have to find an attractive woman (from any planet) in a short dress for that.
