Birds have very strong feet and toes. There are lots of different kinds of birds. I am assuming that you are talking about perching (passerine) birds, making up the largest order of birds (Passeriformes).
A bird (whether wren, oriole, blackbird, thrush, crow, magpie, shrike, finch, sparrow, bird-of-paradise, flycatcher, warbler, lark, woodcreeper, or any of dozens of other types) will have three long toes in front and one behind. This enables the bird to grasp hold of anything and stay there without ever falling from a tree, barn, etc.
Birds have many different kinds of feet, depending on the type of bird, and the function of its limbs.
Passerines (mentioned above), woodpeckers, eagles, swifts, herons, ducks, grebes, loons, penguins, pelicans, storks, pigeons, rheas, cranes, rails, petrels, etc., all have different kinds of feet and toes, position of toes, and number of toes.
Some of the birds are noted for perching (passerines mentioned above). Some are noted for grasping, tearing, swimming, running, etc. Some birds (penguins) can swim and walk, but cannot fly. Some birds (ratites) can run, but cannot fly or swim. Some birds (loons) can swim and fly, but cannot walk. Some birds (hummingbirds and swifts) spend most of their time in the air. Some spend most of their time on the ground. Some spend most of their time in trees.

solid question. i imagine many of the time they sleep in nests contained in the timber, so that they don't look to be very probably to fall out of the tree. also they many times have exceptionally solid stability at the same time as they're perched on tree braches, per chance it truly is yet another reason. Lol...Sorry I purely pictured a chook falling out of a tree at the same time as dozing, hilariously humorous image lol!! Sorry animal fanatics, if it really is any convenience I pictured a pigeon falling out of the tree because i will't stand them, they're only nasty.
