It makes me ill to see people writing Eric Lindros in response to this question - but regardless, my vote would be Bobby Clarke as the overall best player. As best goalie, it is hard to argue with Bernie Parent, but I would say Pelle Lindbergh would have beaten him if he had not passed away so tragically. In terms of toughness, no one could beat Dave Schultz, and in terms of pure goal-scoring talent, I have to give John Leclair his due - he could find the back of the net in the craziest situations. In any case for you Lindros lovers, get real. Anyone who whines about his contracts, doesn't listen to doctors, and complains about the way his team treats him does not deserve to be listed as best of anything.
