Maturity. When I was a teen I loved to listen to my greatest hits album of Al Jolson. He died many years before I was born. I had wonderful music teachers throughout my schooldays and my parents always had a radio playing in the house, so I was exposed to and learned to appreciate music from every era. There isn't much in the way of music I don't like. I feel sorry for people who like only one kind of music or just current popular music. They don't know what they are missing. BTW, I like it loud, too. That has nothing to do with age. Ha!

I love it loud too by Gene Simmons from KISS!!

These people that say grow up don't know the true meaning of growing.
In Actuality you never stop growing weather it be Physical or mentally.
To act young is a part of growing to a new height of maturity.
If they feel they are all grown up then they don't realize that it doesn't just stop with age.

This may sound silly but to me

Its immature to be mateur and mature to be immature.

Your kids will love you for this and you'll never be forgotten.

Getti Lee said in the song Spirit of the Radio "One likes to believe in the freedom of music"

Music could reflect age but not all the time.I like music of today and yesterday.I even like alot of the Beatles.I also like Coldplay and I like the song The Joker and the Thief.

Look at Kiss,Rolling Stones,The who,Ozzy Osborne,Led Zepplin

If you like these Guys does it mean you're too old?
They've been around for years and still Kickin A*ss As said by Montly Crue.
I would think that the bands that are classic should be the more mature thing to listen to just because they've more people happy then the one hit wonders.

Stick with something thats more secure right?

Nah always Grow man Listen to all music so you can never stop growing for the love of music. Its your own free choice.

without attempting to sound like an indie-elitist or an primary song snob, i comprehend the position you're going with this. There truly seems solid data of a correlation between particular artists and an persons I.Q. although, i need to admit that i don't have the pro lab outcomes, so in spite of i imagine is really speculative. truly listening to Nickelback over prolonged classes might want to outcome in diminished intelligence. yet you're truly on to at least some thing. If I roll into someones crib and see Britney, Justin and Puddle of Mudd, it really is a pink flag. they could truly be musically-retarded. i am going to't keep in recommendations ever listening to about any Juggalos in Mensa. on the turn side, i have not run into too many stupid those who're into Radiohead. no count what the reality is, that is sturdy for laughs to take a position on. foreverscarlett23 - Correlation does no longer recommend one hundred% in both route. there'll continually be exceptions. Prof - Jurassic 5 are actual sturdy and really hip-hop. Sookie - i'd under no circumstances base it in common words on one CD yet somewhat an finished series. everyone seems entitled to a mulligan, even perhaps 2. :)

Well, I'm 49 yrs old and I couldn't get enough of Nelly last year with a little Eminem and Ja Rule. Now I use to only listen to rock, the 80's especially. I have a real nice sound system on my computer. My two kids were shocked to hear and feel the the base and Nelly playing. They tell me to turn it down. They are use to having mp3 player and headphones on. I had it blasting in the car and some young kids drove by and there faces were in shock. My son has introduced me to the Stevie Ray Von and the old Blues. He's 16yrs old. So your never too old to widen your experience or too young. So age doesn't have anything to do with it. Its the mind. LOL

I got to go with what you were surrounded with in the years that shaped your personality. Personally I was raised on Beatles, Queen, classic rock, oldies, etc. Now at 19 after over a decade, I still listen exclusively to the Beatles, Clapton, Eagles, Queen, Pink Floyd, etc. I think it's because my favorite times and memories come in my short life are linked to this music. The only additions have been Black Sabbath and AC/DC. It's kind of like the whole "Is it Nature or Nurture?" psychological debate.

I think it reflects maturity. I still love all the music that I loved when I was growing up, but now I listen to so many other styles as well. I think I have grown to appreciate so much more.

I'm older than you and I still love rocking. Part of the problem I see, is that commercial radio doesn't play a lot of new rock bands. I got Sirius radio, and I have been hearing bands like Taking Back Sunday, Divide the Day, I like some of it but I feel better not just listening to the same old tunes over and over. (Though I still love my calssic rock!)

Musical taste reflects maturity. I was listening to Glenn Miller when I was 12. I am now 30. Waaaay before my time. I also listen to Frank Sinatra, Billie Holliday and newer music too.

Musical taste has nothing to do with either age or maturity. It's all about personal preference.
