Most likely you'd look for contamination of the water sources in the school, since that's where giardia infections originate.

Hypothesis: Some source of water in the school is contaminated with Giardia.

Investigation: take water samples from every possible source in the school and have it tested for giardia.

Well, you'd probably start by investigating the problem at hand -- giardiasis. You'll want to research what it is, what it does, what part of the body it affects, and how it's transmitted. (just a quick google search)

Then you'd hypothesise why you think it is being so frequently transmitted in this particular school.

Then you're going to want to find a way to investigate from there. You might investigate something in the school, test the students for something, and so on.
