Overrated now, maybe to some extent. 20 or 30 years ago, well that's different. They were the STUFF. I had a better word, but it got edited out, so knowbody would have really known what i was saying, LOL. Led Zeppelin is the roots to a lot of our Rock and Roll today. Along with the Beatles, Jethro Tull, Sabbath, Joplin... I could go on.

Overrated? Dude, heres a clue. They never played the same song alike in all the concerts they did. Buy two different recording of the same song and listen! They were into free form, the song was the template and thats it, the moment was the song and how it turned out. Overrated? They played! They weren't lip syncing, record scratching, over dubbing performers. They were the real deal, yet nothing I can say could possiblly equal and hour standing there face to face and living the experience. Guess I just dated myself, lol.

I definetly think they are overrated. From what i hear, they were inconsistent live, they would have nights where they sounded just plain terrible. The Rhythm section was great, Jones and Bonham, but I think Page was sloppy a majority of the time, and Plant I felt his voice was more annoying then having a good tone.

Wow.I think they are awesome and all their music sends some cool messages. They were great songwriters and musicians. I think people should give them more credit for evolving the rock industry.

I tend to agree.
It's not like 'Every Rose has It's Thorn' or 'I Won't Forget You' were true classics....thought they were good songs for their times.
I prefer more sophisticated performers such as Right Said Fred and Gerrardo.

Yes, I think they were one of the best bands ever.. Just my opinion but you are entitled to yours. They were four fablous musicians and talented songwriters.

you're not alone. they have a few tunes that i'll listen to but i don't think they're all that great. growing up, all my friends listened to them and bought all their albums. everyone thought they were the best except me. i still don't own any of their music and i usually turn them off if they come on the radio.
