I would suggest that you return the baskets back to the tribe if you find whom they belong to. Just because one found and bought them does not make them yours.

Well, I would suggest contacting a local university and ask for a professor or dean of archaeology (or geology if that fails, as they probably know archaeologists) and ask them who to contact in your state.
