Your break through bleed is probably due to your hormones.
I would go for a check up with your doc. just to be sure.
You don't want to become anemic with all the blood loss that your having.

Because every month an egg departs from your ovaries, makes its way down into your uterus, hangs out for a while, waits for fertilization... and if nothing happens, the egg dies and the uterine lining gets flushed out of your system to be remade again.
Basic health class stuff there.

A lot of people bleed for a few days mid-cycle when they are ovulating.
