Because they are not and need to say they are in order to boost their egos. It's also the media's fault for showing men in a bad way. Not all women are like that. (probably 20%)

You know what, I'm sick of both men and women who feel the need to claim superiority over one another. It's a pointless waste of energy, which causes bitter feelings and breeds negativity.

Their is a confusion of issues here.
Go back to Bible basics.
Men must respect the weaker (physically) sex and must not look down upon them for this. They are to LOVE their wives.
Women must stop trying to "lead" men. They must respect men for what they are, IDIOTS! No, no just kidding. They must respect the G*d given rights that men must LEAD, and not women.
Mutual respect based on LOVE will solve a lot of marriage problems.

Quite often true. However, it is a control issue. Many have low self esteem and they feel it's a way to keep a man in line. Men who recognize this as abusive leave this tyoe of woman ASAP.

Society is constantly reinforcing that women are better than men. For example 69% of media representation of men shows them in a negative light. The ironic thing is that much of this reinforcement is a response to women complaining about their low self esteems to begin with.

If you are angry-you must have serious issues with females within your family..control issues? Women in this country have many of them for GOOD reason..LACK of control! Taking into account that women still make less than men, are in lower income brackets than men, raise children alone, rely upon their generational poverty to get them through-I think I may have a control issue too and a headache after dealing with all that while trying to look cute in a mini skirt or hiding the fact that I may not like mini skirts and maybe I don't want to "fit" into a societal norm that makes me look like a barbie doll? In other words-yes-we KNOW we are EQUAL..it's a whole lotta men that DO NOT and maybe you? That's not stubborn thinking-that's inequality with facts to back it up! So, superior? No. Angry? Yep. Need for control within our lives on the same playing field as a man? Yes.
