Get an electrician in there. Your friend does not know what he's doing.

Have the friend backtrack. The reason your breaker was tripping was because there was a short in the dryer. Take the top off the dryer and then the front and the clip off the rotating drum in the rear and you will see the heater coil wires behind the drum on the back wall of the dryer. There is a break in that wire. Find the break and hook the wires together so they won't come undone and reassemble. Now there will be heat. If you got no power to the dryer, friend screwed up at the breaker. Put the old one back on.

New breaker still tripping means that 2 things may be happening now.. 1)instantaneous tripping means that something is wrong with the dryer try unplugging and turning on the breaker if it stays on then the dryer is faulty (or even if it still trips again you aren’t out of the water yet… then you could even have a short in the wall or the plug or 2) your dryer is too big for the breaker that means you need to up the wire size according to the dryers needs and then install proper size breaker determined by the dryer

the electrician says good luck
and maybe if all else fails call and electrician and if that guy doesnt know these things then keep him out of the panel he dont need to be hooking up them wires

Sounds like you have a short in your dryer and your breaker is blown again. Time to punt and call an electrician.

If your friend replaced the breaker, he may have installed it incorrectly in the panel. Move it one half slot up or down and see if that corrects the problem.

I think your friend screwed up. You better get a real electrician to check it out before your house burns down.
