Does splash guard scratch the fender overtime? Do you need to install a paint protection film before installing splash guards on your car fender?

Yes, over time it will scratch your car. Putting a paint protection film on before installing splash guards would be an excellent idea. You also have the problem of moisture and dirt getting trapped in the area between the guard and the car body and the film would also offer excellent protection from this.

As above but I would put some silicon on the panel after it was painted to stop the water and crap getting in there and slowly causing it to rust.
Its easy to remove after the splash guard has been removed therefore keeping the resell price up.

If anything a splash guard protects the under-door area from rocks and other debris thrown up by your tires!!
