And not to wealthy Americans; Bush has already taken care of them. Couldn't the Gulf Coast use a hand up?

C'mon Cons, is "Screw America" really the philosophy we should aspire to hold in our collective hearts?

Those in BushOilCo believe in "there's a sucker born every miinute," and "If God did not want them sheared, He would not have made them sheep!" These men have been plundering our Treasury ever since they got in, taking $8 billion a week out for their friends in the war making business. Now we hear they sent $12 billion in cash to Iraq and it just disappeared! Halliburton is under investigation for somehow losing over a billion as well. At some point even conservatives should be standing up and saying enough is enough. When will Americans realize these men mean us harm?

Heard today on the radio that Bush will be dipping into the Medicare pot to help fund his war in Iraq. Sorry, but I would much rather take care of American's with all of those billions of dollars rather than some Iraqi who just wishes us harm anyways. The Gulf Coast got spit on, while more and more money was shipped to Iraq. What is wrong with this picture? Every American should be upset as to where their hard earned tax dollars are being spent. I know I am.

Probably used to pay informants and others who help us...you are a civilian you do not have the Security Clearance high enough to find this out, just like the reporter who released the information...you are just mad because you can not find out...a question I have what are these Third World countries going to do with the 8 Billion Dollars our great Democratic congress is sending them for AIDS relief or research or what ever the hell they said it was for...maybe do some genocide?

Look - the people who honestly couldn't get out of the way, I have the deepest sympathy for and we *should* help them. It's a disgrace that they haven't been taken care of yet.

Those who were perfectly capable of leaving and *chose* not to, screw 'em. They knew they lived in a city below sea-level. They knew a massive hurricane was coming. Their trusty leader, Mayor Nagin, holed up in a hotel. Instead of using school buses to evacuate the sick and infirm, Nagin sat on his *** and didn't have clue one. Blanco (LA gov) was no better. FEMA's reaction definitely sucked ***, but I don't blame them for the initial reaction. Why? Because if the *local* government, bravely holed up in a fancy hotel, didn't realize wtf was going on. Because the *state* government didn't realize wtf was going on. So how on earth could the feds have a clue wtf was going on?

The people who could not evacuate were screwed. Their government - local, state, and federal, completely failed them. There is no excuse for that. But I think the worst part is how their own friends and neighbors failed them. Why on earth didn't the healthy, able-bodied people take responsibility for themselves? And what the hell is wrong with our society that the able-bodied no longer help the infirm?

People need to quit relying on ANYONE else to take care of them. You should be prepared for emergencies. If you are told to evacuate, GET THE HELL OUT. And be sure to check on anyone you know who might need a hand.

Damned proud to be a conservative.
