That is a terrible name. If they give the baby that name, he will always be explaining how to pronounce and spell it. I like Edward, though. If they are attached to Nias, maybe it could be a middle name, although, now that I think about it, having an "s" at the end of the middle name, and the beginning of the last name doesn't sound right.

Nias? I'm not even sure how to pronounce it. And also, have they considered that he won't go by the full name, he'll just go by Nias Simmons, which is a lot of 's' all together in the middle, and it sounds funny?

Can't they go for something a little better, like Nathan or Neil or something? Well, I don't particularly like Neil either, but it's better than Nias!

Nias sounds like a drag queen
Edward Simmons is fine but not my style.

Don't like Nias at all! Sorry. Edward is fine. I like Nathaniel your choice better. You caring in what they call your nephew is very sweet.
I hope they take your advice.

I really do not like Nias, but it is their baby so if that's what they like then let them choose that, you'll get your chance to name a child when you have one.

I've heard much, much worse than Nias, although I've never heard it used as a name. I do love Edward.

I am all for weird names, but that one is just way to off. No one will be able to pronounce it and he may get teased because of it. Maybe they should rethink it. I agree with you.
