k=12.85
0.4k=5.09+.05
k=5.14/.4=12.85
And that's still the answer even if somebody bitter and/or a poor math student insists on thumbs-downing it.

i am still trying to figure out how .999 repeating = 1 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
and i dont think that zero point energy is a hoax..... of course the laws of thermodynamics say that energy can not be created or destroyed,,, only inter-changed into matter..... but if an electron moves around its nucleus at the speed of light,,, wouldnt it approach infinite mass ?? which would mean infinite energy ? i dont think people should say the word impossible,,, cause men keep finding ways to make the impossible,, possible......... what REALLY boggles my mind,,, is the double slit experiment in quantum mechanics..... how can one elctron act as a wave and interfere with itself to create a waveform distribution pattern... and why does it act as a particle when we try to observe it ? how the heck can watching something in-animate,,, change how it behaves ????? thanks for that answer on my zero point enrgy question though,,,, even though i dont entirely agree

Yep. You add it together to create 0.4k-0.05=5.09 then add 0.05 to the other side to get 0.4k=5.14 then divide each side by 0.4, making k=12.85

0.2k+0.2k = 5.09+0.05
0.4k =5.14
k =5.14/0.4
k =12.85
gud luck!
hope u got full mark for the math problem!

0.2k+0.2k-0.05=5.09
.4k - 0.05 = 5.09
.4k -0.05 + 0.05 = 5.09 + 0.05
.4x = 5.14 {divide both sides by .4}
x = 5.14/.4
x = 12.85
