Are you asking for one specific year, or one specific decade team?
If its one specific year, then the 1985-86 Celtics were the greatest team ever. They would have trounced any other team in history, including ANY of the 1990's Bulls teams.
So would ANY of the Celtic or Laker teams of the 1980's. And you can also throw in the 1982-83 76ers too.
As a matter of fact, the 1966-67 76ers, the 1970-71 Bucks, and the 1971-72 Lakers all would have destroyed the Bulls.
Its hard to put the Dream Team in there because they were only together for a couple months and never had to go through an entire season . But I think its safe to say they were one of the greatest teams ever assembled .
Just because a team has MJ on it ??
So does that mean that the 1985 Bulls (38-44), the 86 Bulls (30-52), the 87 Bulls (40-42), and the 2002 and 2003 Wizards (both 37-45) all rank as some of the greatest teams in history?
MJ was on all of these "legendary" teams. LOL

In order ... 1. 86 Celtics 2. 87 Lakers 3. 88 Pistons 4. 98 Bulls Not sure why you're putting the 98 Bulls up there with these great teams. That was probably the weakest of all the Bulls championship teams. The 92 Chicago team was probably the best of the bunch .....even Jordan himself has said so. Either way, non of the Bulls championship teams of the 90's are were as good as the other 3 teams you mentioned. Only an idiot like King of NJ would think that they were. The 1986 Celtics were the greatest single season team in NBA history. The only team that might give them a run would be the 87 Lakers. But I think that year, the Celtics were just too deep and too strong up front for LA (maybe with a younger Kareem). The 88 Pistons were just a bunch of thugs who got way more credit than they deserved. There's no way in hell they would be able to beat a healthy Laker or Celtic team in the 1980's. Any of the early 80's Philly teams were better than Detroit was. "Forte". ....I think Jim Brown might have something to say about that

I hate to say this but looks like the 50's-60's Celtics The 90's Bulls with the 80's Lakers behind them. I'm a Laker fan.
Dream Team won't count because the players were "hand picked" & didn't play a full season. They were the best USA team.

Celtics. When someone else wins 11 out of 12, then I'll consider them.
UCLA (9 out of 10) was no slouch either

celtics trounced the league, lost finals one year when russell sprained an ankle in game three, won 11 titles from 57 to 69...how huge is that??? (or that bill went undefeated in last 55 games in college for two championships, led his olympic team to gold then started the celtics run...they hadnt won one till he got there)
